Abstract
Wind is one of the environmental factors affecting the performance of the dry cooling tower. Given the identified adverse effects of wind on the dry cooling towers, Researchers have presented several ways to solve this problem which include the use of wind break wall, changing the geometry of the tower, and the gas injected into the tower. In this study, the use of guide vanes proposed as a new work and by using a structure with four vanes and install it in the weakest delta, The air flow pattern around the bottom of the tower and the tower deltas of Montazarghaem plant power has been checked in the field. The results of using guide vanes at the side sectors of tower shows that, Inflow to the sector, exited from the vortex mode and converted to a radial mode. Also, with increasing reference wind speed, Inflow velocity of side deltas of the tower with guide vanes increases linearly up to about 35 percent, while with no vanes decreases about 40 percent. Temperature distribution on delta located at the back of the vane also shows that the uniform temperature distribution on the surface of the radiator and the average rate decreased about of 1/9 °c and this value can be considered proportional to reduction in radiator temperature.
