Abstract
Controlling the car position over the lines and relative to other cars is the first step to direct the car. Designing a car positioning system is an important challenge in making intelligent cars. In this paper, a new algorithm for road line detection is provided that can predict road's lines and vehicle positioning under the terms of vision limitations using the Kalman filter and IMU data. This algorithm operates real-time and has the ability to implement a variety of operating systems and hardware platforms. The proposal has been examined by simulating the driving environment in the laboratory, with an average accuracy of 86% in line detection and 79.5% in the estimation of the car position.
